The Treasury Strategy and Policy Manager is responsible for supporting the Treasurer in the delivery of key liquidity and funding strategic deliverables and implementing and overseeing the Liquidity and Funding Risk Management Framework.


  • Excellent knowledge of banking products, economics and financial markets
  • At least 5 years of experience and proven expertise in a Treasury function is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements pertaining to Treasury in Europe, in particular liquidity regulatory metric calculation
  • Understanding of both banking book and trading book accounting; the main inputs to regulatory capital determination; leverage; funding and liquidity requirements and financial risk management


  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to think strategically
  • Capable of influencing and leading a change agenda with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills; both written and verbal and an ability to produce clear, concise analysis for management
  • Clearly demonstrable administrative and organizational skills to deliver the sort of clarity, transparency, process and timely delivery required of the Finance and Operations function

Key Accountabilities:

  • Review and update the Liquidity and Funding policies to ensure compliance with the requirements of the CBI regulator
  • Monitor and enhance 1st LOD systems and controls designed to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory requirements and escalate immediately to the Treasurer when applicable
  • Documentation of the Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process
  • Assist in the preparation of the ICAAP
  • Monitor structural balance sheet pricing, regulatory ratios and other policies and procedures are adhered to on behalf of Corporate Treasury and consistent with company practices
  • Contribute to BMI’s forecasting, planning and stress testing processes within its Liquidity risk appetite
  • Contribute to the development of the liquidity risk appetite statement
  • Contribute to Recovery and Resolution regulatory submissions to address potential Liquidity and Funding disruptions and in the event of a liquidity crisis situation, review implications and action accordingly
  • Assist in any relevant regulatory or corporate reporting
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of financial and legal regulations that may affect company decisions or policies
  • Monitoring of the Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) process and ensure that it correctly reflect the liquidity & funding requirements of the LOB
  • Contribute to and maintain an effective Operational Risk Management Framework, escalating any observed operational risk matters to the Operational Risk Manager.
